The island of Koh Samui is filled with numerous idyllic cafes and restaurants that blend into the laid-back lifestyle the island exudes. Cafes in Koh Samui enjoy the small, intimate island charm that can only be found on a tropical island immersed in the warm waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Nestled inside the luxurious Kimpton Kitalay Samui Beachfront resort is BoHo Thai Lifestyle Café. The cafe not only manages to soak in the island charm, but it also offers a breathtaking view of the Gulf. The pleasant views continue on its walls which are adorned with exquisite art pieces from notable Thai artists. The cafe prides itself on being more than just a cafe and dining destination; it’s a space to showcase unique Thai art.
A Cafe Art Gallery
The restaurant’s artwork is curated by Saratta Space, a Bangkok-based design gallery that specializes in original artwork and limited prints. When it comes to BoHo Thai Lifestyle Café, Saratta developed a concept that illustrates the dichotomy of its ambiance of the ‘Land to Sea’ concept through the placement of enchanting art pieces from various local artists on each wall. The art adorned on each of the restaurant’s walls offers a different and unique viewing experience that represents each theme.
On one side of the restaurant, the walls showcase art representing the land. Expect to be greeted by exotic creatures finding their way through an inviting imaginative world set in a magical forest and Fungi Plates hanging from the wall featuring exquisite paintings of mushrooms in a forest.
This is balanced with the other wall where the sea is represented, with sea creatures frolicking freely in an underwater world. This aquatic paradise is further enhanced through the use of glass art pieces that highlight the mystery of the sea below, where discoveries of treasure and more astounding creatures await. As a whole, the restaurant sums up the intimate relationship between the land and the sea.
Keep your eye out for a piece named Vibrational Color Series by Kon Rachawoot, a unique Thai mural art piece using solvent-based glass paint. The piece is stunning with its enormous size that captures the room’s attention.

Breakfast Menu (7am to 11am)
The breakfast menu at the restaurant offers a mix of the usual western breakfast items. Try the restaurant’s Chao Samui Benedict — a classic eggs benedict, with a local twist. Served with local soft-shell crab, crispy hash browns, coconut curry hollandaise.
For a more traditional Thai breakfast, there’s Khao Tom – soft-boiled eggs, strips of ginger topped with crispy garlic, and your choice of local pork, prawns, or a variety of local herbs and vegetables.
There’s a quality selection of toasts as well. If you’re craving some avocado, choose smashed avocado topped with pickled fennel, roasted cherry tomatoes, and finished with pistachio dukkah.
